The invention relates to an ester polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 218 to 224 parts of polyester macromonomer, 25.9 to 29.5 parts of unsaturated acid, 5.60 to 7.20 parts of functional monomer, 0.56 to 0.83 part of chain transfer agent, 1.44 to 1.88 parts of initiator, 0.24 to 0.55 part of reducing agent and 250 to 257 parts of water, the polyester macromonomer comprises the following raw materials: unsaturated aromatic acid, polyethylene glycol and a catalyst. According to the invention, unsaturated aromatic acid and polyethylene glycol are used as raw materials to prepare the polyester macromonomer, then the polyester macromonomer, the functional monomer and unsaturated acid are subjected to ternary polymerization to prepare the ester polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent, and the prepared ester polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent has good workability and water reducing rate.
