The invention belongs to the technical field of steel strand pulling, and particularly relates to a strand forming method which comprises the steps that S1, a lead, a first winch and a second winch are installed in place; wherein a first steel wire rope is arranged on the first winch; a second steel wire rope is arranged on the second winch; s2, the end of the steel strand is upset, and the steel strand is arranged in a strand forming mold in a penetrating mode through the upset end; s3, a lead is led to the end provided with the first winch in a penetrating mode, and the lead is connected with the first steel wire rope; s4, the first steel wire rope is pulled to the end provided with the second winch through a lead, and the first steel wire rope and the second steel wire rope are connected; s5, the second steel wire rope is pulled to the end provided with the stranded wire forming mold through the first steel wire rope, and the second steel wire rope is connected with the stranded wire forming mold; and S6, a second steel wire rope is used for pulling the stranded wire forming mold. By means of the stranded wire forming method, the steel stranded wire and the winch steel wire rope are stably connected.
