The invention relates to yttrium oxide transparent ceramic as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The chemical composition of the yttrium oxide transparent ceramic is Y2O3 + x at.% MO3, M is W or/and Mo, and x is more than 0 and less than 0.5; when M is equal to W, x preferably ranges from 0.025 to 0.3, and more preferably ranges from 0.075; and when M is equal to Mo, x is preferably from 0.025 to 0.2, more preferably from 0.025.
