A quartz reactor is adopted for preparing the cadmium telluride ingot, the quartz reactor comprises a quartz inner crucible, a quartz outer crucible and a graphite crucible, the quartz inner crucible is arranged in the quartz outer crucible, the quartz outer crucible is arranged in the graphite crucible, the outer side of the quartz inner crucible is sleeved with a quartz cover, and a graphite cover is arranged on the graphite crucible; the preparation method of the cadmium telluride ingot comprises the following steps: placing a tellurium ingot and a cadmium ingot in an inner quartz crucible, covering the inner quartz crucible with a quartz cover, placing boron oxide particles between the quartz cover and an outer quartz crucible, and covering the inner quartz crucible with a graphite cover; and carrying out pressure sintering on the quartz reactor filled with the tellurium ingot and the cadmium ingot in a stepped temperature rise heating mode, and cooling to obtain the cadmium telluride ingot. The prepared cadmium telluride ingot is high in product yield and stable in quality, the product raw materials can be fully utilized, the quality of the cadmium telluride ingot synthesized at a time is high, the process danger is reduced, and continuous production can be achieved.
