The invention relates to a preparation method of low-density U3O8 foamed ceramic. The method comprises the following steps: 1) preparing a uranium oxide precursor solution; (2) soaking a foam template in the uranium oxide precursor solution prepared in the step (1), and then drying in the air; 3) circulating the steps for 1-10 times to obtain a uranium oxide foam blank; 4) performing high-temperature treatment on the uranium oxide foam green body obtained in the step 3) in a low-pressure environment to obtain uranium oxide/carbon composite foam ceramic; and 5) sintering the product obtained in the step 4) in an air atmosphere at a high temperature to obtain the U3O8 foamed ceramic. The low-density U3O8 foamed ceramic block material with a complete structure can be obtained, the material phase purity is high, the density and foam aperture regulation range is large, the maximum porosity of the material reaches 95%, and the application of the material in the fields of catalysis, laser fusion engineering technologies and the like can be met.
