The invention relates to a method for producing carbonized or graphitized molded parts. The aim of the invention is to provide a method for producing carbonized or graphitized molded parts, which method is particularly easy to implement and also allows the production of complex molded parts without mechanical post-treatment. This object is achieved by producing a pourable liquid polymer mixture, which is as homogeneous as possible, consisting of carbon particles, pitch, carbon black or graphite powder and polyacrylonitrile dissolved in a solvent, a liquid polymer mixture is filled into a casting mold and the filled casting mold is immersed in water for a predetermined period of time until the polymer mixture is sufficiently cured and dimensionally stable, and then detached from the casting mold, and stabilizing the preformed cured molded part by uniform heating in a furnace in air at a predetermined temperature for stabilizing and degassing volatile components, and performing a high temperature treatment in the furnace under a protective gas for carbonizing or graphitizing the molded part.
