The invention relates to the field of concrete, and particularly discloses a dam face splicing material and a preparation method thereof. The dam surface splicing material comprises cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, fly ash, reinforced fibers, an anti-cracking agent, tap water and a water reducing agent, wherein the anti-cracking agent comprises polyethyl methacrylate, sodium octyl sulfonate, silica fume and guar gum; the preparation method comprises the following steps: respectively putting the coarse aggregate and the fine aggregate into a stirrer for full dry mixing; adding the cement and the fly ash into a stirrer, adding 50% of tap water, and carrying out wet mixing with the mixed aggregate; and adding the reinforced fibers, the anti-cracking agent and the water reducing agent into the mixture, adding 50% of tap water, and continuously stirring for 10-30 minutes to obtain the dam surface splicing material. The dam face splicing material has the advantage that the problem of leakage caused by cracking of the concrete face is effectively solved.
