The invention discloses a gypsum modifier as well as a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of treatment of gypsum prepared by desulfurization in a power plant. The gypsum modifier provided by the invention is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50-55 parts of a component A surfactant, 15-20 parts of a component B dispersant and 25-35 parts of a component C penetrant, the surfactant is one or more of polymerization products of high carbon alcohol-isomeric alcohol C18 or high carbon alcohol-isomeric alcohol C19 or high carbon alcohol-isomeric alcohol C20 and 1, 2-cyclopentane dicarboxylic acid; the penetrating agent is one or more of polymerization products of high-carbon alcohol-isomeric alcohol C13, high-carbon alcohol-isomeric alcohol C14 and polyacrylic acid; and the dispersing agent is selected from one or more of binary polymerization products of formic acid or acetic acid or caproic acid and methyl acrylate. The technical problem that in the prior art of limestone wet separation, the moisture content of gypsum is large when the gypsum is separated through a vacuum belt conveyor is solved.
