The invention discloses a method for improving frost heaving and thaw collapse of saline soil. According to the method, attapulgite is doped into salinized soil, and the salinized soil is sodium sulfate salinized soil or sodium carbonate salinized soil. The mass percentage of the attapulgite doped in the sodium sulfate salinized soil or the sodium carbonate salinized soil is 1%-5%. The invention further provides application of the attapulgite in improvement of frost heaving and thaw collapse of the sodium sulfate salinized soil or the sodium carbonate salinized soil. The doping of the nano attapulgite can effectively relieve the moisture migration activeness of the salinized soil sample and inhibit the trend of height expansion of a freezing region, and improve and control the salt frost heaving deformation development of the salinized soil, thereby reducing or avoiding natural and engineering disasters induced by the salinized soil in a freezing and thawing environment.
