The embodiment of the invention relates to a BaTiO3-based ceramic material and a preparation method thereof, the BaTiO3-based ceramic material comprises (Ba0. 8Sr0. 2) TiO3 and Bi (Mg2/3Ta1/3) O3, and the BaTiO3-based ceramic material is a material obtained by introducing Bi (Mg2/3Ta1/3) O3 according to molar percentage to replace and modify elements in (Ba0. 8Sr0. 2) TiO3; wherein the molar percentage is used for representing the content of Bi (Mg2/3Ta1/3) O3. The dielectric constant of the BaTiO3-based ceramic material can be improved, the dielectric loss can be reduced, and the temperature stability can be improved.
