The microspheres of the present invention may comprise: a hollow carbon; and a transition metal oxide disposed on the surface of the hollow carbon. The anode for the lithium ion battery can comprise the microspheres. The method for producing microspheres according to the present invention may comprise the steps of: obtaining a spray solution by mixing a metal salt, a carbon precursor, and an ammonium ion precursor; and performing one-pot spray thermal decomposition on the spray solution. The method also comprises the step of performing one-pot spray thermal decomposition on the spray solution.
