The invention relates to the technical field of road building materials. The invention discloses a thermally regenerated steel slag permeable asphalt mixture and a preparation method thereof. The asphalt mixture is prepared from the following raw materials: asphalt, steel slag, filler, a polymer modifier, lignocellulose, carboxymethyl chitosan and polyacrylic acid intercalated hydrotalcite. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, heating the asphalt, adding the polymer modifier, and stirring to obtain modified asphalt; s2, adding the lignocellulose, carboxymethyl chitosan and polyacrylic acid intercalated hydrotalcite into the modified asphalt, and stirring and mixing to obtain a mixture; s3, heating the steel slag and the filler, adding the mixture, and stirring and mixing to obtain the thermally regenerated steel slag permeable asphalt mixture. The thermal regeneration steel slag permeable asphalt mixture prepared by the invention is high in deformation resistance and excellent in water permeability, crack resistance and water stability.
