The setting accelerator is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 92-96 parts of gypsum powder, 1-3 parts of attapulgite and 3-5 parts of sugar. The preparation method of the coagulant comprises the following steps: S1, grinding gypsum until the particle size is less than 0.01 mm to obtain gypsum powder; s2, attapulgite is added into sugar, heating and uniform stirring are performed, and a mixture is obtained; s3, adding the mixture prepared in the step S2 into the gypsum powder prepared in the step S1, and grinding and stirring; and then drying to obtain the coagulant. The sugar can rapidly grow crystals and reduce the initial setting time, and the attapulgite has high adsorption capacity, so that the sugar can be distributed more uniformly, the crystal growth is accelerated, and the final setting time is reduced; the attapulgite enables the combination of the sugar and the gypsum to be tighter, so that the fracture load of the gypsum plaster board is improved.
