Automatic sleeper marking
A system and method for automatic railway maintenance by a rail maintenance team using electronic sleeper markings (ETMs) configured to optimize railway asset maintenance. The system can avoid collision between members of a track maintenance team for maintaining railway assets (such as rails, sleepers, ballasts, turnouts, intersections and the like). The system may generate production numbers for railway assets and evaluate an asset queue for maintenance by railway departments. The system may utilize real-time updates from a track maintenance team to optimize work output. The system may provide a customizable user interface to identify, track, and process information related to railway asset maintenance. The system also provides a head-up display (HUD) to inform an operator of related information, such as maintenance information, travel indicators, and updated asset queues. The system may identify the next location and compute an optimal path from sensor inputs combining machine-specific and environmental characteristics.
