The invention provides a lightweight clay castable as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The light clay castable comprises flint clay aggregate particles, aluminum silicate fibers, lanthanum zirconate powder, fine powder and a binder, wherein the fine powder comprises clay fine powder, talc fine powder, cordierite fine powder and andalusite fine powder in a mass ratio of 100: (15-25): (45-55): (75-85); the binder comprises aluminum sulfate, ammonium bicarbonate, magnesium lignosulfonate and water in a mass ratio of (12-18): (3-5): (0.5-0.8): 100; the mass ratio of the flint clay aggregate particles to the aluminum silicate fibers to the lanthanum zirconate powder to the fine powder is 100: (6-8): (1.5-2.5): (60-65); and the binder accounts for 6.5-7.5% of the total mass of the other raw materials. The clay light-weight castable is good in binding property, high in mechanical strength, small in specific gravity, low in heat conductivity coefficient, suitable for a working lining of an industrial kiln, simple to prepare, mild in condition and wide in industrial application prospect.
