The invention discloses a modified glass fiber reinforced corundum-mullite castable and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of unshaped refractory materials. The castable comprises 38 to 48% of compact corundum particles, 20 to 30% of mullite particles, 16 to 20% of compact corundum powder, 2 to 5% of silica powder, 5 to 10% of activated alumina powder, 1 to 3% of a composite additive, 0.05 to 0.15% of a water reducer, 0.2 to 0.6% of modified glass fiber and 7.5 to 8.5% of additional silica sol. Wherein the modified glass fiber is prepared by firing glass fiber at a high temperature of 350-400 DEG C, then adding the glass fiber into a solution containing a silane coupling agent, soaking while stirring, and then carrying out ultrasonic treatment. The obtained castable has high low-temperature strength, the high-temperature performance of the castable is improved, and large-scale industrial application of the silica sol combined corundum-mullite castable is facilitated.
