The invention discloses an alumina porous ceramic with a hierarchical porous structure and a preparation method thereof, and the preparation method of the alumina porous ceramic comprises the following steps: mixing boehmite powder, a sintering aid, a catalyst, a dispersant, a pH regulator and a solvent, and carrying out ball milling to obtain ceramic slurry; placing the ceramic slurry in a mold for standing, freezing, performing vacuum drying, and demolding to obtain a green body; and sintering the green body at 1000-1500 DEG C for 1-3 hours to obtain the aluminum oxide porous ceramic. The method for preparing the nanowire composite aluminum oxide porous ceramic comprises the following steps: putting the aluminum oxide porous ceramic into an impregnation solution for vacuum impregnation, preserving heat for curing the impregnation solution, and sintering at 1000-1500 DEG C to obtain the nanowire composite aluminum oxide porous ceramic, the alumina porous ceramic and the nanowire composite alumina porous ceramic have good high temperature resistance, excellent mechanical properties and high porosity, and can be used as fluid filtering materials.
