GUARDRAIL END SHOCK ABSORBING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a guardrail end shock absorbing device. The device includes a plurality of support columns (10) each consisting of a lower part (11) mounted on the ground and an upper part (12) connected to the top of the lower part (11) so as to move relatively thereto. The upper part (12) is fastened to both ends of the guardrail (30). The upper part (12) is fastened through a rail bracket (20) to guardrail (30) by means of a third fastener (38) and a spacer bar (39). A first and a second connection flange (14, 16) are provided between the lower part (11) and the upper part (12), wherein the connection flange (14, 16) is provided with a first and a second fastening hole (15, 17) open to both side ends of the guardrail (30), the open part of the first and the second fastening hole (15, 17) being provided with a first and a second guide slope (15', 17') respectively. The connection flanges (14, 16) are fastened by a first fastener (19) penetrating simultaneously the open fastening holes (15, 17). The first connection flange (14) is provided with a guide part to guide the moving upper part (12). The present invention enables the lower part (11) and the upper part (12) to separate in a head-on collision so as to make the frictional force between the guardrail (30) and the spacer bar (39) dissipate in the form of thermal energy, thus absorbing shock.

The present invention relates to a guardrail end shock absorbing device. The first connection flange (14) is provided with a guide part to guide the moving upper part (12). The present invention enables the lower part (11) and the upper part (12) to separate in a head-on collision so as to make the frictional force between the guardrail (30) and the spacer bar (39) dissipate in the form of thermal energy, thus absorbing shock.
