The invention discloses an adjusting device for positioning a machining tool relative to a guide rail. The guide rail is laid in a rail and is rolled by a rail vehicle; the machining tool is arranged on a machine base (14) fixed on the rail vehicle and is provided with an acting part section for machining the guide rail head; the adjusting device is provided with a first adjusting mechanism; the first adjusting mechanism is used for changing the angle position of the acting section of the machining tool, observed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail laid in the track. The first adjusting mechanism has a first linkage mechanism (13) with transmission members in the form of a link and a rocker, which transmission members are connected to one another solely by means of a rotating hinge rotating about rotating axes parallel to one another. The first linkage is configured such that the machining tool can pivot about a virtual pivot point (SP) that is not formed by one of the hinges. The virtual pivot point may in particular be located in the guide rail head.
