Work tool positioning system
The work tool positioning system comprises a work tool, for example a bucket or forks, 13 mounted at an end of a movable arm 20 of work machine such as a loader. At least one proximity sensor 30 is provided for providing a proximity signal indicative of a distance between the proximity sensor and an object 25 in front of the sensor 30. A processor is configured to receive the proximity signal and to calculate a clearance distance z between a reference location on the work tool 13 and an object, such as a container to be loaded 25 in front of the proximity sensor 30. The processor is configured to activate one or more alerts 32 when the clearance distance z is greater than or equal to a first threshold unloading distance.
