The plate has a drainage outlet 126 located in a recess and includes engagement means 132, 134 to engage with a drainage assembly 136 located under a shower base assembly. The drainage outlet may be offset from the centre of the plate and the plate may have at least one straight wall. The plate may have a circular upper portion and a lower portion with side walls which prevent rotation of the plate. The tray and the plate may each have N side walls and the plate may be positioned in N-1 positions in the tray. A shower base assembly is also claimed. The tray base of the assembly may have fall lines 110 to direct the flow of water.
