Palisade fencing pales
A method of manufacturing palisade fencing pales 4 from a feed of strip metal 3 includes the step of cutting the strip metal into individual fencing pales using a press 5. In a single action, the press cuts one end of a first pale 4 and the other end of a second pale 4’ which is adjacent the first pale on the metal strip. The apparatus for manufacturing the pales includes a means for feeding the strip metal. In the single action the press may cut a pointed end 64 to serve as the top of the first pale 4’ and a flat end 63 to serve as the bottom of the second pale 4. The press may also form at least one aperture 61 for securing the pale to a corresponding fencing rail. At least one indentation of embossment 65’ adjacent to an aperture, formed by the press, may be used to assist in securing of fasteners used with that aperture. The press may contain multiple individual presses (71, 71’, 72, Figure 7) that can operate together or independently. The strip metal fed through the press prior to pressing may be W-shaped (Figure 5).
