PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon nitride base sintered compact excellent in impact wear resistance in addition to sliding wear resistance, and an impact wear resistant member made of the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a silicon nitride base sintered compact comprising silicon nitride as the main phase and hard crystal grains made of the nitride of titanium or the carbide of silicon as a grain boundary phase, per mmof the grain boundary phase in the surface, the number of the hard crystal grains of 0.2 to 1 μm with an equivalent circle diameter is 2 to 10×10. In this way, a silicon nitride base sintered compact excellent in impact wear resistance in addition to sliding wear resistance can be made.
【課題】耐滑り磨耗性に加えて耐衝撃磨耗性に優れた窒化珪素質焼結体およびこれからなる耐衝撃磨耗性部材を提供する。【解決手段】主相が窒化珪素であり、粒界相がチタンの窒化物または珪素の炭化物からなる硬質結晶粒子を含む窒化珪素質焼結体であって、表面における粒界相の1mm2当たりに、円相当径で0.2μm以上1μm以下の硬質結晶粒子が2?104個以上10?104個以下である。これにより、耐滑り磨耗性に加えて耐衝撃磨耗性に優れた窒化珪素質焼結体とすることができる。【選択図】 なし
