PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered ceramic body and an electronic component.SOLUTION: The invention provides a sintered ceramic body 1 that comprises a low resistor portion 2 and a dielectric portion 3, in which the low resistor portion 2 contains a Ti and a metallic element M1 existing in valence states of 5 or 6, the dielectric portion 3 contains the Ti, a metallic element M2 existing in valence states of 5 or 6, and a metallic element M3 existing in valence states of 2 or 3, and both the low resistor portion 2 and the dielectric portion 3 have a rutile-type crystalline structure. This invention provides also an electronic component that includes a laminate made by alternately stacking the dielectric layer 3 and an internal electrode layer in which each layer is composed of the sintered ceramic body 1, and a pair of an external electrodes which are electrically connected respectively to the internal electrode layers, arranged to the external surfaces of the laminate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
