To provide a wheel type work vehicle capable of relaxing shock in switching a transmission from a high speed stage to a low speed stage without exerting influence on the operability of a work machine.SOLUTION: A wheel type work vehicle 1 includes a transmission 15 for transmitting the rotating power of a travel hydraulic motor 52 for to wheels, a control valve 53 for travel having a shut-off position for shutting off the supply of pressure oil from a hydraulic pump 51 to the travel hydraulic motor 52, a transmission switching valve 79 for switching a speed stage of the transmission 15 by selectively switching positions, and a controller 100 for controlling the travel control valve 53 and the transmission switching valve 79. The controller 100 switches the position of the transmission switching valve 79 so as to switch the transmission 15 from the high speed stage to the low speed stage after switching the travel control valve 53 to the shut-off position N in the case of switching the transmission 15 from the high speed stage to the low speed stage, and switches the travel control valve 53 from the shut-off position N to an original position side before switching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】作業機の操作性に影響を及ぼすことなくトランスミッションの高速段から低速段への切換時のショックを緩和できるホイール式作業車両を提供する。【解決手段】ホイール式作業車両１は、走行用油圧モータ５２の回転動力を車輪に伝達するトランスミッション１５、油圧ポンプ５１から走行用油圧モータ５２への圧油の供給を遮断する遮断位置Ｎを有する走行用制御弁５３、位置を選択的に切り換えることでトランスミッション１５の速度段を切り換える変速用切換弁７９、走行用制御弁５３及び変速用切換弁７９を制御するコントローラ１００を備える。コントローラ１００は、トランスミッション１５を高速段から低速段へ切り換える場合、走行用制御弁５３を遮断位置Ｎへ切り換えた後、トランスミッション１５の速度段が低速段へ切り換わるように変速用切換弁７９の位置を切り換え、走行用制御弁５３を遮断位置Ｎから切換前の元の位置側へ切り換える。【選択図】 図２
