To provide a construction method of a ridge substrate and a ridge in which corrosion of members constituting the ridge hardly progresses.SOLUTION: A ridge substrate 20 includes: a flat plate portion 21 provided directly or indirectly on a surface 15A of a roofing material 15; upright portions 22, 23 provided so as to stand up against the surface 15A at both ends of the flat plate portion 21; a left parallel part 24 extending to the left from the left upright portion 22 as the starting point; a right parallel part 25 extending to the right from the right upright portion 23; a left extension portion 26 extending toward the surface 15A from the left parallel part 24; and a right extension portion 27 extending from the right parallel portion 25 toward the surface 15A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
