To provide a tailgate opening/closing device that simplifies tailgate opening/closing structure to reduce the cost and weight of the device and improve the quality.SOLUTION: The tailgate opening/closing device includes a release gear that rotates forward and reversely for cinching operation or release operation depending on the rotational force of a motor, a cinching gear that rotates by meshing with the release gear, a link mechanism that receives force from the cinching gear and rotates toward a claw during the cinching operation rotation step of the cinching gear, a claw that is fastened to a striker by rotating together with the link mechanism during the cinching operation rotation step of the link mechanism, and a pole unit configured to be hooked on the claw to limit the rotation of the claw in the release direction and to rotate with the release gear only when the release gear rotates in the release direction with the claw fastened to the striker so as to allow the claw to rotate in the release direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
