To provide an inverted siphon structure of a vent pipe capable of efficiently discharging contaminants that adhere on or accumulate in the vent pipe only with force of daily downward flow of sewage.SOLUTION: An inverted siphon structure of a vent pipe having a rectifying section includes a vent pipe passing underneath an obstacle such as a river or an underground passage, and removal means for suspended contaminants for removing contaminants that adhere on or accumulate in the vent pipe, the inverted siphon structure further including a vent pipe in a downward flow section having an inclination angle of up to 30 degrees and a rectifying section in a prescribed section of a sewage in an upstream side, a pipe diameter in the rectifying section being smaller than or equal to the vent pipe diameter in the downward flow section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
