To provide a non-fired basic brick excellent in corrosion resistance, and a method of producing the same.SOLUTION: A method of producing a non-fired basic brick comprises a step of kneading a refractory raw material composition containing at least one species of magnesia of a particle diameter of smaller than 75 μm and magnesite chrome of a particle diameter of smaller than 75 μm in an aggregate amount of 0.2 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less, and silica of a particle diameter of smaller than 75 μm in an amount of 0.3 mass% or more and 2.5 mass% or less, subsequent to adding water thereto, a step of press-molding the kneaded product, and a step of heat-treating the same at a temperature of 60°C or higher and 1000°C or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
