외관을 해치는 일 없이 진공 복층 유리의 간격을 유지하고, 판유리끼리 면방향으로 위치가 어긋나는 것을 흡수 가능한 유리 패널용 간격 유지 부재 및 그 제조방법을 제공한다. 판면을 서로 대향시킨 한 쌍의 판유리(1, 2) 사이에 형성한 공극부(4) 주위를 밀폐하여 공극부(4)를 감압 상태로 유지할 때 한 쌍의 판유리(1, 2) 사이에 개재되어 장착되는 간격 유지 부재(3)로서, 한 쌍의 판유리(1, 2)에 대해 각각 접촉하는 경질부(6); 및 경질부(6) 사이에 배치되며 경질부(6)보다 저경도인 연질부(7);를 구비하고, 연질부(7)가, 판유리(1, 2)의 대향면(1A, 2A)에 수직인 두께방향으로의 압축력에 기인한 변형보다, 대향면(1A, 2A)을 따르는 방향으로의 전단력에 기인한 변형이 생기기 쉽다.
Provided are a a glass panel gap retention member capable of retaining a predetermined spacing in a vacuum multilayer glass without compromising its outer appearance and effectively absorbing a positional displacement between the pair of glass plates in their face direction and a method of manufacturing the same. In a gap retention member 3 to be disposed between a pair of glass plates 1, 2 when a circumference of a gap 4 formed between the pair of glass plates 1, 2 with their plate faces opposing each other is to be sealed to maintain the gap 4 under a depressurized state, the gap retention member 3 includes hard portions 6 to contact the pair of glass plates 1, 2 respectively and a soft portion 7 disposed between the hard portions 6 and having a lower hardness than the hard portions 6, the soft portion 7 being more susceptible to deformation based on a shearing force effective in the direction along the opposing faces 1A, 2A of the glass plates 1, 2 than deformation based on a compressive force effective in a thickness direction perpendicular to the opposing faces 1A, 2A of the glass plates 1,2.
