They have been prepared as a convenient and permanent record of the planning and design decisions involved in the preparation of the specifications for the proposed Auburn Dam on the American River near Auburn, California. These five volumes deal only with the double-curvature, concrete arch design concept. This second volume discusses the foundation analysis and treatment of Auburn Dam, both for deformation purposes and for stability purposes.
