There are five volumes in this series on the Design and Analysis of Auburn Dam. They have been prepared as a convenient and permanent record of the planning and design decisions involved in the preparation of the specifications for the proposed Auburn Dam on the American River near Auburn, California. These five volumes deal only with the double-curvature, concrete arch design concept. This fourth volume has separately bound appendices and supplement volumes. This volume itself presents the dynamic studies performed for the proposed dam structure. Earthquakes and their effect on dams, loading criteria, response spectra and accelerograms are discussed and applied to the dam to determine dynamic response.
