The report represents a partial result of a research project which had as its objectives the development of performance specifications for the construction of urban housing in Missouri and an analysis of the possible methods and sources of financing housing construction. The emphasis was placed on single-family houses and low-rise group housing. Various forms of residential land planning are described and illustrated. These forms include gridiron subdivision, curvilinear subdivision, density zoning, cluster developments, and planned unit developments. The various advantages and disadvantages of each form have been presented; however, no particular form has been selected as the best type because prevailing circumstances dictate which is best for a particular project.
