The major purpose of the report is to develop performance specifications for industrialized urban housing of varying costs in the state of Missouri. The types of housing to which these specifications will be applicable are: single-family houses; multi-family, low-rise apartment buildings; and other low-rise housing units. The specifications will be limited to the following aspects of these types of housing: superstructure, substructure, heating, ventilating, summer air-conditioning, interior utilities systems, door and window assemblies, and aesthetics. Secondary purposes of this thesis are a presentation of the state of the art of factory-built housing and recommended procedures for administration and enforcement of the performance specifications.
