Steady‐State Thermal Non‐Newtonian Point Contacts
In the current chapter, the FEM modeling of EHL steady‐state thermal non‐Newtonian point contacts is covered in detail. Point contacts can be found for example in ball bearings, crowned cylindrical roller‐element bearings, etc. The governing equations are obtained as a particular case of the more general transient case, as detailed in chapter 1. A full‐coupling strategy is employed whereby all governing equations are solved simultaneously, in a large monolithic system. Some preliminary results obtained using the model detailed in this chapter are presented.
