This paper presents a technical description of the design and construction of the Navy's largest drydock at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington. The ever increasing dimensions of naval ships since World War II, such as the “Super Carriers,” require facilities capable of accommodating this class of vessel.
