A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Gyvenamosios paskirties pastatų sandarumo tyrimai įvertinant energijos taupymo potencialą Lietuvos mastu ; Study on the airtightness of residential buildings and assessment of energy-saving potential on Lithuania scale
Energy consumption in households is a significant part of the total energy balance of Lithuania and the European Union as well. Therefore, the government aims to pay more attention to the energy consumption reduction policy. The focus is on minimizing heat loss through partitions or more efficient heat sources but as the performed statistical analysis shows, the potential for energy savings associated with increased airtightness of existing buildings is still unexploited. A review of the scientific articles shows that the building airtightness can play a significant role in the overall energy consumption of the building, the airtightness measurements are slightly influenced by internal and external factors. The measurement of airtightness in an energy-inefficient residential building has identified the main leaks in the building envelope. The savings estimated from the economic analysis can be achieved by implementing measures to improve tightness. Based on statistical data analysis and scientific articles, the master's thesis analyzed the energy-saving potential of residential buildings in Lithuania, taking into account the building airtightness factor. The thesis consists of 8 parts: relevance of the work, literature review, methodology, experimental part, energy-saving potential, conclusions, recommendations, references. The thesis consists of 76 pages of text without appendixes, 28 pictures, 19 tables.
