Regionale Strategien für eine dauerhaft-umweltgerechte Siedlungsflächenentwicklung
Although various negative impacts of current trends in land use have been obvious for years in Germany, change in this trend cannot be recognised seen. One option for increasing the effectiveness of public regulatory policies is to make use of so — called “regional development strategies”, an integrated political approach to reshape land use policy. After defining basic terms and fundamental types of such “strategies” the text indicates different possibilities for changing land use policies. The International Building Exhibition “Fürst-Pückler-Land” in the Lusatia region (German state of Brandenburg) is used as an example to demonstrate the usefulness of such strategies.
