Houston expressway
Design breaks precedent with 4-street "loading platform" for entry to and exit from expressway; earth fill and 8-in. concrete pavement were designed to carry wheel load of 14,000 lb corresponding to H-20 loading with slab deflection of 0.1 in.; footings of overpasses are supported by columns pushed down to suitable depth.
