Design of flexible airfield pavements for multiple-wheel landing gear assemblies
Traffic tests performed on flexible pavement with single and multiple wheel assemblies to check theoretical curves; measurement of pavement deflections; thickness evaluation; tests on lean clay subgrade revealed that multiple wheel design criteria developed from single wheel curves by theoretical methods are reasonably correct but slightly unsafe.
