Freezing of slurry around piles in permafrost
In Arctic construction, piles are frequently placed in drilled holes in permafrost and held in position while slurry of sand or silt and water is poured into space around them; analysis of method of predicting time that slurry will take to freeze in particular conditions; problem solved by computer.
