High bents for trestle approaches to long-view bridge
Piles were driven for each bent and were capped at level so that four 5-post stories, each 30 ft. high, would bring top of each bent to prescribed grade; stories were framed on ground and, one at a time, were lifted to place by gin pole lashed to leads of pile driver; gin pole was 130 ft. long and was stayed with four guys at top.
