Prestressed concrete viaduct on Genoa-Savona motorway
Design features of roadway viaduct that is prestressed concrete structure over Campasso and Piazza d'Armi marshalling yards and Polcevera river in three spans of 664 ft, 668 ft, and 459 ft; deck is being built high above railways without interference to rail traffic, and main piers are each founded on large diameter bored piles, some of which are 130 ft deep; gaps between cantilever sections are closed by 118 ft simply-supported units resting on rocking and rolling bearings on tips of cantilevers.
