Co-ordinated approach to shrinkage testing of concretes and mortars
New theory is presented for shrinkage; empirical formula is also put forward which correlates well with accepted shrinkage values; it is suggested that, for any aggregate or combination of aggregates, shrinkage index may be determined empirically which permits evaluation of shrinkage potentialities of mixes made with such aggregates, and which may be used to predict shrinkages of comparable mixes. (See also Mag Concrete Research v 13 n 39 Nov 1961 p 133-40)
