Structural analysis of multistory buildings
Digital computer method for analysis of large, multistory building frames is presented; structure may be subjected to vertical and lateral loading and include arbitrary system of shear walls; method is based on development of tri-diagonal stiffness matrix of each frame in building, its reduction by recursion relationships to lateral frame stiffness, and superposition of lateral frame stiffnesses to obtain lateral stiffness of complete building.
