Details of construction of Avon Dam, near South Brent, Devon, and water treatment works which, together with new mains and service reservoirs, will augment existing supplies by about 2,700,000 gal per day and enable supplies to be provided in rural areas not previously served; dam is of gravity type, constructed in mass concrete with facings of precast concrete blocks.
