Vibrating-wire measuring devices used at strutted excavations
Theoretical analysis of principle of vibrating wire is developed and solutions are given both for wire with simply supported and with fixed ends; tests with vibrating-wire strain gages mounted on H-section beams show that best agreement between experimental and theoretical results was obtained by using equation for wire with simply supported ends; 150 ton load cell incorporates vibrating-wire strain gages; development of earth-pressure cell and results of laboratory tests.
