Measuring instruments for strutted excavations
Paper presents summary of experience gained by Norwegian Geotechnical Institute with field instrumentation of strutted excavations in clay; descriptions are given of instruments and techniques which have been used to measure strut loads, earth and water pressures, settlement, heave and deformation, and information is presented concerning cost, accuracy and reliability of these instruments.
