Bored-pile pier foundation of Hochstrasser-Weise system using suction-drilling method
Construction of 640 m long, 24.7 m wide pier founded on 672 cylindrical piles, each 26.5 m long, 92 to 100 cm in diam; techniques of sinking-in of drill pipe into sea bottom by means of pneumatic oscillator combined with suction system, introducing reinforcement, filling with pressed concrete, and pulling-out drill pipe, are described.
