Geology and coal resources of northeast part of coosa coal field, St. Clair county, Alabama
Coking coal and steam coal have been obtained from small mines in Coal City and Fairview basins for about 100 yr; outside of mined areas, however, little was known regarding thickness or extent of coal underground; present investigation augments surface data collected to determine extent, thickness, and reserves of coal beds underground, and to resurvey geology as guide for further development.
